November 9th

Greetings All,

Home group this week, Wednesday the 9th of November will meet at the Bell's at 6:30.

We have a community project to do that will take us about 30 minutes. We are filling bags for the school backpack program that Jennifer Morgan helps with. Please try to be at Life Group by 6:30. Thanks!

Then we will be discussing "Fellowship", led by Dr. Stan from the handout he gave out last week. Click here if you failed to get one or would like to see or print one.

Hope to see you there!

October 26th

Greetings,

Home group this week will meet at the Bell's, Wednesday the 26th, 6:30 pm as usual. Remember to pray about the election coming the second week in November (8th) and prepare by doing research on the issues and candidates or seeking the counsel of those you trust.

Early voting is open, and Elizabeth and I voted today at the courthouse. The lines were short and the process was straight forward and easy. I recommend you do it if possible to avoid the possibility of long lines on election day or something coming up that would preclude you exercising this important opportunity and responsibility.

You can click here for a sample ballot to avoid surprises at the voting booth. You can click here for information and guidance from Arkansas Family Council on state candidates and  issues. And you can click here for information on national candidates and platforms. As discussed recently at home group, for many of us the vote has come down to platforms and not candidates at the national level, voting for the most good, and against the most evil.

VOTE! Soon!! Do it!

I had a commitment last week and was late to the meeting, but I'm told we are down to the last four discussion questions on Dr. Stan's sheet this week (5-8), which you can view (and print) by clicking here.

Read up so as to deepen and energize the discussion. See you there!

Shalom,

Dwayne

October 19th

Greetings All,

We had an excellent get together Wednesday night, small (8) but intimate and insightful around the fire on the patio as we started Dr. Stan's hand out on "Hearing God." We finished #1 & #2 with some powerful insights shared on Elijah's hearing God during and after his Mt. Carmel experience as he ran to the Mountain of God. Maybe we can summarize for those who missed it next week if you like?

We'll meet Oct. 19th at 6:30pm, the Bell's home, and begin with #3 on the "Hearing God" handout, and go as far as we get. Also, read some chapters suggested at the top of the sheet in the Tozer book, or anything you like in the book, and feel free to share insights with the group from "The Set of the Sail."

See you Wednesday! :)

Dwayne

PS The following came from a small men's group this week. Seems pertinent to some discussions we've recently had at home group, so I'll share it again here:

Greetings Brothers,

We had a good discussion this morning on politics and how the spiritual interacts possibly with the natural in the political processes of the United States, and voting. Lively discussion! :)

One opinion expressed was to vote for the best person and platform period.

Another opinion expressed their might be wisdom in looking at our system, history, and making sure your vote counted for as much good as possible going forward.

Everyone agreed we should be informed, or get informed, and vote.

I now recall that in a recent life group meeting, Debbie Stuckey said, "For me it's come down to the platforms, not the candidates in this election." Last Monday night at a men's Bible study on Isaiah a brother gave me this article on the platforms that is insightful and well written. I recommend it to you.

Pray. Be joyful and bold. Be light and salt. Focus on "things above," the King, and His everlasting kingdom. Gaze on Him and pray to become more and more like Him. Enjoy your freedoms. Be informed. Vote. Pray some more. :)

You have influence with the Being that matters most, if you're His child. That position is important!

Shalom in Him,

Dwayne

Happy Birthday Elizabeth! ( Oct 2nd)
Greetings All,

Our plan this week is to finish the handout on prayer and start the handout Dr. Stan gave out last week on "hearing God," and we'll go as far as we get in discussing it. Come prepared! You'll then get the most out of our discussion and discovery! Wednesday, 6:30 pm, the Bell's home.

If you didn't get a "Hearing God" handout, you can click here to view or print it.

Remember to pray for each other, and to listen in prayer this week!

Blessings,

Dwayne

Thanks to the Stuckey's for hosting home group last week while the Bells were out of the country.

Dr Stan sent this in way of helping you prepare or be informed about our plan for this meeting.

"I want to talk this week about prayer (“homework sheet” I gave out 2 weeks ago).  Next couple weeks I would like to focus and talk about “hearing God”...."

Hope to see you there!

Greetings Udouj/Bell Life Group Members and Friends,

Oh yes! VERY BIG YES! A one night showing of "The Insanity of God" movie is happening nation wide tonight. In our area it's showing at the Malco across from Central Mall at 7pm.

Go if you can! Most likely will be epic and life changing for the better.

May God our Father, and the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, use this film as He wishes to grace His church in the USA and the west. Amen.

In His Love,

Dwayne

Celebrate Discipline

Greetings,

Our life group will meet Wednesday , May 4th, 6:30pm at the Bell's home. Last week we had some lively discussion around two questions Dr. Stan asked [1] What is the main message of the Gospel, and [2] What do you do when you are spiritually dry?

The last question in particular led us into a discussion of the spiritual disciplines, and that's where Dr. Stan is planning to resume the discussion. Hope to see you there!

Blessings...

People are often unreasonable, irrational, and self-centered.  Forgive them anyway.
If you are kind, people may accuse you of selfish, ulterior motives.  Be kind anyway.
If you are successful, you will win some unfaithful friends and some genuine enemies.  Succeed anyway.
If you are honest and sincere people may deceive you.  Be honest and sincere anyway.
What you spend years creating, others could destroy overnight.  Create anyway.
If you find serenity and happiness, some may be jealous.  Be happy anyway.
The good you do today, will often be forgotten.  Do good anyway.
Give the best you have, and it will never be enough.  Give your best anyway.
In the final analysis, it is between you and God.  It was never between you and them anyway.

Chime In!

 Greetings,

Home group will meet at the Bell's 6:30 p.m., Wednesday, April 27th. Hope to see you there!

We finished the book of Hebrews last week, and we're down to 4 or 5 meetings before summer break. So please feel free to chime in with your order of preference on the four subjects we have yet to discuss. Dr. Stan and I will be coming up with a plan in the next few days, and we'd love to have your input.

Here'a a link to the blog detailing your choices when we began group this year to refresh your memory.

[I'll also share a link to the blog of a good friend I received today for you to ponder. It's meaningful and you'll see the connection to Hebrews throughout. Shalom...]

Monday, April 18, 2016

Home group Wednesday, April 20th, will meet at the Bell home at 6:30 pm. We will take up our study in Hebrews, and perhaps finish? So come prepared to discuss Chapter 13, and perhaps what you've learned or gleaned or taken away from this important book of the Holy Scripture, as Dwayne leads us.

Blessings to you all!

Hebrews 12

Greetings Life Group! Last week we heard Amy & Dwayne share about the mission trip to Honduras they just completed the previous week. It was a great time of adventure, successful ministry, and personal spiritual growth. Thanks to all who prayed!!

YouTube Video about Honduras Mission

This week Wednesday, March 30th, we'll meet at the Bell's home at the normal time 6:30 pm and continue our study of Hebrews 12 led by Dr. Stan. We will likely begin with verse 14 and go as far as we go. :) Chapter 13 is the last chapter, so we are about to conclude our study... a very rich one indeed.

Hope to see you Wednesday!

“Therefore, strengthen the hands that are weak and the knees that are feeble, and make straight paths for your feet, so that the limb which is lame may not be put out of joint, but rather be healed. Pursue peace with all men, and the sanctification without which no one will see the Lord.” (Hebrews 12:12–14)
