Hebrews 12

Greetings Life Group! Last week we heard Amy & Dwayne share about the mission trip to Honduras they just completed the previous week. It was a great time of adventure, successful ministry, and personal spiritual growth. Thanks to all who prayed!!

This week Wednesday, March 30th, we'll meet at the Bell's home at the normal time 6:30 pm and continue our study of Hebrews 12 led by Dr. Stan. We will likely begin with verse 14 and go as far as we go. :) Chapter 13 is the last chapter, so we are about to conclude our study... a very rich one indeed.

Hope to see you Wednesday!

“Therefore, strengthen the hands that are weak and the knees that are feeble, and make straight paths for your feet, so that the limb which is lame may not be put out of joint, but rather be healed. Pursue peace with all men, and the sanctification without which no one will see the Lord.” (Hebrews 12:12–14)

This Week, Maybe?

Greetings All,

Well we didn't end up meeting last week due to some unforeseen circumstances, so we're going to meet this week March 23rd, at the Bell's home, 6:30 pm (even though many life groups are breaking for Spring Break). Dr. Stan will lead our discussion starting with Hebrews 12.

Dwayne has a small gift resource for each of you concerning the persecuted church which we discussed when we last met.

See you there! -=db=-

Serving the King in Fort Smith & Guatemala

Last week several from our home group went to volunteer at the Hope Kid's facility in South Fort Smith. Thanks to all who went to serve!

This week, March 16th, we'll meet at the Bell's home at 6:30 pm to renew our study of Hebrews. We'll be starting at Chapter 12 with Dr. Stan leading our discussion. Come prepared for a time of revelation and fellowship.

Blessings!

Oh yeah! If you'd like to have a look at Dr. Stan, Connie, and Elizabeth as they served the King and the people of Guatemala a few weeks ago, you can click here, or here. Enjoy!

This Weeks Life Group...

Greetings All,

This week it has come to our attention that the Hope Kids' Ministry is in need of help at their new facility. So, we are going to meet there Wednesday night, March 9th, 6:30 pm with no meeting at the Bell's as previously planned.

The facility is at:
10303 Hwy 45
Fort Smith, AR 72916

Come if you can in your work clothes, with your serving hat on. :) I understand there is plenty to do to help for a couple hours.

Blessings in Jesus,

Stan & Dwayne

Greetings Friends,

There were eleven of us present last Wed, March 2nd, at the Udouj/Bell Life Group meeting as we paused our Hebrews study at the end of chapter 11 to look at the persecuted church in our day, with an emphasis on what we should be doing and can be doing to help. We watched a movie on the patio by the fire entitled, A Cry from Iran, The Untold Story of Iranian Christian Martyrs, then we discussed it's impact on us. It was an insightful and moving time. The movie is available for any who would like to borrow it, to share with other groups, families, or simply to watch it again.

Below is the handout we used in our discussion to lead us to consider the persecuted church in our times.

This week we will meet at the Bell home, 6:30 pm, March 9th, and take up our study of Hebrews at Chapter 12. And perhaps continue our discussion of the persecuted church. See you there!

Shalom in Christ Jesus, our Savior, King, and High Priest before the very Throne of God,

Dwayne

[WATCH THE FILM, A CRY FROM IRAN]

Personal Notes to jot down from the film after or as we watch:
(What stands out to you personally, or touches your heart?)
(What did you see that you had no idea about?)
(What did you feel, and what would you do if you and your family lived there?)

[Charles Simpson shared with me by email on February 29th, what he would want to get across to the church in our day about our persecuted brothers and sisters around the globe. Please consider his words with me.]

“Heb 13:3 tells us how to regard those who are prisoners for the gospel. In addition, one of Jesus' ministries and means of judging our works was our involvement with those in prison ( I think that He was referring specifically to those unjustly persecuted.) Injustice is a cause that is on God's heart.

What I want to highlight is our identification with our persecuted brothers and sisters. There is only One church. If one suffers we all do.

Persecuted Christians should awaken us all to the battle between good and evil and to our role in standing together. When we make the issues known it pleases God and rebukes the enemy!”
